Teen Skill Building Workshop
Managing Stress through Mindfulness
This is a great opportunity to introduce mindfulness skills for high school students (ages 13 - 18) during the summer. The skills become tools for daily living that can reduce stress and anxiety when dealing with life circumstances.
Each week will have a specialized theme, discussion, practice, journal write, and home challenge.
The program will be on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM. The dates are July 11, 18, 25, August 1, 8, 15, and 22nd. August 29 is the last class that will be an early evening class at 5:30 PM to kick off to the school year.
In consideration of summer vacations, there will be two packages offered: The full Eight week program for $176.00 per student or any six weeks for $150.00. (Please note that there are no refunds/credits once a program is purchased.)
SPECIAL NOTE: Each participant is asked to bring a journal or notebook with a pen.
These are the topics for the eight week session:
Session One: Introduction - What is Mindfulness?
Session Two: The Benefits of Being a Beginner
Session Three: Meditation
Session Four: Zentangle
Session Five: Listening
Session Six: The Value of Being Bored
Session Seven: Negative Self Talk
Session Eight: Gratitude
The teen class will coincide with an adult "yoga for flexibility, balance, and core" for the parent/caregiver who wishes to explore a class to balance the mind and body.
